Our 2023 AGM took place on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Holiday Inn Oakville.
The following topics were discussed:
- An adjustment to our grouping system based specifically on average speeds (+ or – 1 km/h). For 2023, groups will be: 21 km/h, 23 km/h, 26 km/h, 28 km/h, 30 km/h, 32+ km/h.
- The OCC Clothing design will carry over from last year and the store will open in March for orders.
- We will continue to offer special rides in 2023 including some special gravel rides.
- Fun socials including fritter rides and ice cream rides
- Tuesday morning rides will now have 2 groups go out, a 24 km/h and a 27km/h.
- All ride groups will be starting at the same locations.
- Class 1 e-bikes that are pedal assist will be included in the groups: 21, 23, 26km/h. The exec will continue to review this policy.
- The membership fee for 2023 will now be $50.00 and won’t include a jersey for this season as it is a continuation of last years design. It is the expectation that a jersey of new design will be included in the 2024 membership price.
- The membership window will open very early March. New members will be allowed to join 7 days after the initial opening.
- Dates for Ride Leader Training, New Rider Training and our first club ride will be announced in the coming weeks.
- We have some new faces on the executive including a new president, new secretary and new social coordinator. Welcome Joan, Dane and Monique.
The election of officers resulted in some changes to the elected and non-elected executive. Bruce MacDonald stepped down as club president and Carlos Vivas stepped down as secretary. As a result of the election, the new officials are:
- President: Joan Lee
- Secretary: Dane Morrison
In addition, Monique Milewska is now the club social coordinator.
